5 March 2010 Issue 21 - as a PDF
Dear Parent/Carer,
Thank you for joining us for our Lenten Mass this morning. The children from Year 5 prepared it, read so well and everyone sang beautifully. Thank you to Fr Brett for presiding.
Netball
7 members of the squad played in an interschool tournament on Thursday afternoon at St. Benedict’s. They played hard and won every game! They were presented with a huge cup for their efforts. They are now through to the County Finals which will be held at the end of the month. Well done to: Lauryn, Saffron, Olivia, Niamgh, Rosaria, Robyn and Josh

Yr 5 & 6 Football Team
The team have won the Primary Schools League and were unbeaten in 8 games. They will be presented with a trophy and some medals at the Community Stadium, before the Brentwood v Colchester match on Tuesday 23 March.
Convent Update
This week we have been busy getting ideas for improving the fencing and security around the Convent, clearing the garden, and getting prices to link the fire and burglar alarm systems. There has been little going on inside the Convent and the Lease is still not ready for signing! On a positive note we have received building regs permission to knock a wall down and raise a floor. The latter is necessary as like the school the Convent faces the same problems being on a hill!
Tesco and Sainsbury Vouchers

Message from Mrs Banthorpe
Year 1 are going to be learning how to weave. If you have any spare ribbon, fabric or brightly coloured thick carrier bags we could have to help with this project I would be very grateful. We also need shoe boxes to make looms with! Many thanks.
Message from the School Council
A big thank you to everyone who came along to the talent show on Monday afternoon we hope you enjoyed the show. We raised £106 and are looking forward to spending this on new playground toys so we can have lots of fun at breaktime!
Message from Mrs Saker
Hopefully all the Yr 6 children who ordered Rising Star revision books have received their copies now. We have some spare copies £10 per set if anyone else is interested please contact the office.

We have been offered the opportunity to host an after school tennis club in the summer term by ‘Making Aces’, who some of you will know. Sessions will last an hour and the cost will be £2 per child per week. If you are interested please let the office know as soon as possible so we can see if it is viable. Thank you.
