15 July 2010 Issue 37 - as a PDF
We finish tomorrow for the long summer break returning on 1 Sept Y1 -6 and 3 Sept Reception. It has been yet another fantastic year for the school leaving us with many, many happy memories, sporting achievements and academic successes. The staff and pupils have worked incredibly hard over the last year and have all earned a nice long rest to recoup the energy for next year.
Thank you all for all your support over the last year it is very much appreciated by us all.
Your Prayers Please
Please keep Curtis in your prayers over the summer as he receives his chemotherapy.
Year 6 Play
Well done to all our young performers on an outstanding performance last night of The Rocky Monster Show. You were highly entertaining and a credit to us all. Thank you to Mrs Saker for all the hard work involved and to her husband, father in law and mother in law for coming along to video the performance and Leavers’ Mass.
Niamgh’s make up bag went missing please check to see if your child took it home by mistake. Thank you.
Year 6 Leavers’ Mass
We say an official goodbye to our Leavers today at Mass in the school. It has been a real pleasure having them all in the school for the last 7 years or so. They have been a truly wonderful class and they will be missed. Good luck Y6!
We also say goodbye to Miss Clarke tomorrow. Miss Clarke takes up her first teaching appointment in September in Witham. It has been a pleasure having her in the school with us.
Thank you
Many thanks to Nurse Morgan and Nurse Cuthbertson for giving up their time to help with the Y5 & Y6 PSHE lessons recently.
Teach Primary
Some of the children will appear in the Autumn issue which will be out in September.
Toy Day
Tomorrow will be a table top toy day. Children may therefore bring in quiet activities which can be played at a desk. |
Training Bibs
Thank you to Mr and Mrs Tudor for the kind donation to the school of 2 sets of training bibs for PE. We’ll certainly be seen in them!
Sporting Success
Well done to the rounders team for coming third in a recent tournament.
Year 3 and 4 each won best boy and best girl in the recent Virtual Tournament for Cup Stacking ( best not to think about it too much) and Year 4 won best class overall. These are out of all the other schools who entered.
The golf club enjoyed a visit to Lexden Golf Club on Tuesday and had a great time.

KS1 Maldon Trip
Could it have been any wetter? The children travelled to Maldon for their long awaited trip to the splash park on Monday in the relentless rain. In fact it only stopped once they returned to school. Nevertheless they had a fantastic time! All they seemed worried about was the fact that the ice cream shop was closed. |
PTA BBQ
A big thank you to everyone for coming along on Friday evening to support the annual BBQ. A huge thanks to the PTA as there was a tremendous amount of preparation involved not to mention the hard work on the night. Thank you all so much.
