Dear Parent We finished another busy week with our annual tree planting event for Reception Class. It is always a fantastic afternoon and an opportunity for our youngest pupils to show their parents all their work!
Y5 & Y6 Road Safety Play CBC visited the school yesterday to present a play to the children based on road safety. All the important messages were communicated in a lively and interesting way! A report from Tom Reid and Brooke Bastow ‘We saw a really funny but serious play about road safety. After the play they asked us questions and did another warning scene about the importance of wearing a helmet when you are on a bike.’
Parking on the Zig Zags If you are dropping off in the morning please use the Priory Street car park and once you have seen your child safely across the road and watched them walk into the school from the car park you can leave knowing you have not endangered other children. Thank you for your support with this.
St Benedict’s MFL Day About a third of our Year 6s will be going to St. Ben’s on Tuesday to spend the day studying Modern Foreign Languages.
Year 4 Cake Sale Y4 is organising a cake sale for break time on Wednesday to raise money to pay towards the education of Indhu the little girl who goes to a school for the deaf in India. £160 pays for her education for the year! It is all part of the Sylvia Wright Trust. The class receive letters and cards from Indhu and it fits in so well with their topic on India. Cakes will be 20p. Thank you for your support.
Breakfast Club Always rushing to get to work? Give yourself a more relaxed start to your day by booking your little cherub into the breakfast club. Scoop them up and drop them off to us. £2.50 per morning. Numbers have risen a little thank you for your support.
Football Match Well done to our football team: Dominic Donnellan, Jacob Donnellan, Youhanna Farah, Maddie Hubbard, Patrick Huggon, Thomas Jackson, Danny Millward, Jamie Morgan, Martin Porter and Freddy Richardson.
For playing so well yesterday afternoon against St. Teresa’s. A report from Martin Porter and Youhanna Farah ‘We beat St Teresa's 3-2 on a very icy, slippery pitch. Youhanna scored the first two goals and then Maddie scored an amazing chip goal over the keeper. Then St Teresa’s got a goal back and they scored another goal in the second half. In the final few minutes they had another chance but Jamie saved the goal and we kept the win.’
Football Training No football training next week as we have a match on Thursday.
Basic Skills Our assessment on Wednesday went really well. The assessor was very impressed with the school and thought the school council were particularly knowledgeable!
