Dear Parent
A Happy New Year to you all!
I hope you all had an enjoyable Christmas and had a chance to spend time with family and friends.

Wedding Bells
Congratulations to Miss Bush on her marriage just before Christmas. She is now Mrs Lyden. Lovely news!

Welcome
We welcome Mrs Tingberg to Year 5 she will be with us until half term while Miss Thomas is at St Francis Maldon.  We also welcome a new pupil Kelvin to Year 3 (his sister Ashley is in Reception).

New Reception Intake 2012
If your child is due to start school next year the closing date of 15 January is fast approaching! Please remember you also need to fill in a Supplementary Information Form (SIF) for us by 15 January so we know who to send Priest Reference Forms to- we will start mailing these next week. The SIF is available from the school office.

Dinner Money
A gentle reminder that dinner money should only be sent in on a Monday morning.  Please put payments in an envelope clearly marked with your child’s name and class.  Many thanks.

Artsmark Award
We are currently putting in an application for reassessment of the Artsmark Award. This award is a measure of how well we provide for the arts – drama, music, art, dance and creative writing. It fits in very nicely with all the work we have been doing with storytelling (leading to improved writing). It involves a detailed audit of lessons and clubs.

Basic Skills Award
It is also time for reassessment of our Basic Skills Award. This is a measure of how well we provide for all children in ICT, Maths and English.

Your Prayers Please
Please remember the Carvell (Roman and Bleu) family in your prayers following the loss of their 20 year old brother on Christmas Eve. May he rest in peace.
