Dear Parent This half term seems to have flown by and it seems hard to believe that we have just one more week left before the half term break. Harvest is now out of the way so no prizes for guessing what they will start preparing for next week. You got it...Christmas!
Harvest Festival Thank you all so much for your very generous donations for the soup run. The stage was crammed full of all sorts of goodies to be enjoyed by people in need. My thanks also to Fr Tony and our KS1 staff and pupils for leading the celebration so well, to all the parents for coming along and to Mrs Lavelle and Mrs Waters for the beautiful decorations.
Parents Evenings It was lovely to see you all over the last few days. I hope you found the meetings informative.
National Film Week Year 3, 4, 5 & 6 enjoyed a free trip to the cinema this morning to see Kung Fu Panda 2. A report from the children: ‘It was very funny and entertaining. The best bit was when Kung Fu Panda was fighting the Wolves. The evil Peacock died and then Kung Fu Panda’s dad found out that Kung Fu was still alive so it was a happy ending.’ Kate King and Jack Kelly
Our younger classes will go on Monday to see Rio.
Charity Cycle Ride Some of our Year 5 girls - Emily, Georgia, Rose and Romilly have decided to do a sponsored charity cycle ride from Colchester to Wivenhoe and back on the Wivenhoe Trail in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support on Sunday 30 October. I am sure you will agree that they have chosen a very worthwhile charity and if you would like to help them without ‘pushing the pedals’ please support them by donating to their cause at:

Bridget Harris PTA NEWS On Monday 17 October we will be taking photos for the PTA school calendar and the children are invited to wear their home clothes to school that day. If you would like to theme their outfit to their birth month (colour or costume) you are very welcome but normal clothes are fine too. A £1 donation per child or £2 per family which will be going towards a project in Peru which Patrick Huggon (Yr 6) and his family are supporting would be appreciated. This will equip a classroom in Peru for children in wheelchairs. Many thanks The PTA
