Dear Parent
Welcome back everyone I hope you had a fabulous break. The children have made a good start to the new school year particularly our new Reception Class. It is hard believe they have only been at school for 3 days!
Baby News
Congratulations to Mrs Buckingham on the birth of her baby boy in the holidays.
Congratulations to the Knight family on the birth of Alexander and the Brown family on the birth of Maisie.
New Staff
We welcome Miss Thomas our new GTP to Year 1. She will spend the first part of the year with Mrs Westera and the second part in Year 3 with Miss Browse.
We welcome Mrs Drury to Year 2 and Mrs Reid and Ms Jones to Year 5.
New Intake
We welcome 30 new Reception Class pupils to the school:

Welcome Meetings for Parents
Please come along to your child’s class to see the classroom and meet the teacher. These meetings are for general information on the year ahead not for discussing individual children.

Film Week
Once again we managed to get free tickets for the cinema! The children will be seeing the following films:
Kung Fu Panda 2 - Friday 14 October- Year 3, 4, 5 & 6
Rio- Monday 17 October - Reception, Yr 1 & 2
School Year Dates
A list of dates for the year ahead is being sent home with the newsletter. It should have all the major events on it until July 2012. Please keep it somewhere safe! For those of you new to the school I have put an asterisk on events where your presence is usual to help you plan your days off work.

St James the Less Visit
The children in years 3, 4, 5, & 6 were privileged to go to the church this afternoon for a guided historical tour as part of the Colchester heritage weekend.
Work Experience
Our thanks to former pupil Molly Huggins who leaves us today after one week of work experience, she has been really helpful in the Reception Class with all the new children.
