Newsletter 36 - 15 July 2011Issue 36 - 15 July 2011 Dear Parent Thank you all for supporting the recent PTA BBQ. As ever it proved to be a really enjoyable evening and as a bonus... it didn’t rain! A really big thank you goes to our wonderful PTA for all their hard work over the year. Their efforts benefit all the children in the school. We finish Friday for the long summer break and return Tuesday 6 September. New Reception intake return Wednesday 7 September. I would like to thank staff, children and Governors for all their hard work over the past year to ensure that our school goes from strength to strength. Baby News Here’s hoping!!!!!! Goodbye We say goodbye to Mrs O’Shea as she takes up a permanent post at a local school. Mrs O’Shea has been a great addition to the team over the last 2 years and we will miss her in the school. We also say a temporary farewell to Mrs Banthorpe as she begins her maternity leave. Let’s hope that baby Banthorpe will be a little more eager to meet us all than baby Saker. But not before August 31st! We will miss Mrs Banthorpe in the classroom, with the reading recovery and in the management meetings. Year 6 Production Thank you so much to our wonderful Year 6 pupils for a brilliant performance on Wednesday night of Wicked of Oz. They were a delight to watch! I am sure parents were just as proud as we were. Thank you also to the choir for supporting them so well and to Colbridge Videography for filming all the leavers’ events. You can order your DVD from Mr and Mrs Beattie for £12 Leavers’ Mass My thanks to Mgr George Stokes for celebrating Mass here for us in Fr Tony’s absence. It was a lovely celebration of their time here at St Thomas More’s. We will miss our Y6 and their families who have been part of the school for so long. Thank you to Mr & Mrs King for the generous donation and to Ms Stallwood for the boxes of brand new books for the children to enjoy.
