Dear Parent

We finish today for the half term break and a week full of sunshine...maybe.

Citizenship Award
I have had the pleasure of spending the morning with some of our pupils at Brentwood Cathedral where they were presented with a Citizenship Award by Bishop Thomas for their exceptional service as a Y6 Buddy. Well done to: Sarah Agyemang, Alex Cuthbertson, Matthew Jerrom, Joe Millward, Mia Sonny and Sophie Tudor

Mrs Saker
We say goodbye to Mrs Saker for a while as she begins her maternity leave today. We will all miss her very much. It won’t be long before we hear good news from her as the baby is due at the end of next month. I hope to cover Y6 myself for most of the next half term.

School Journey
Mrs Snell, Mr Peck and I will be away with the Y6 during the first week back after half term. Mrs O’Shea will cover Y5 while we are away and Mrs West Y2.

Meeting the President
Giselle and Emeric Escobedo had the honour of meeting the President at the American Embassy on Wednesday. What a fabulous experience for them both.

New Intake Parents
We had a well attended meeting yesterday for the New Intake parents. I cannot believe yet another year has passed; it still seems like yesterday that the current Reception were starting.

Mrs Westera
Mrs Westera is recovering well from a foot operation. Hopefully she will be back on her feet again soon!

Road Closure 7 June
16th Air Assault Brigade is marching through town on Tuesday 7 June.  Traffic will not be able to exit Priory Street after 9.15am.  East Hill, North Hill and Head Street will all be closed.  Hopefully this will not cause us too many problems as the roads should be open again by 12.30.

Year 6 Crucial Crew
Year 6 will be attending this year’s Crucial Crew on Wednesday 15 June.  Letter with full details will go out on Monday 13 June (when we’re back from school journey).

School Football Kit

If you have played in a school tournament this year please have a good look around at home for our football kit. We are very short of blue football socks (they are navy blue with yellow piping) and shorts (which are the same). We have had to use the second kit to make up numbers but even this has gone missing (navy Nike shorts, light blue socks). Many thanks.

Tesco Vouchers
Many thanks for the thousands of vouchers you have sent in.  There was an extra spurge of 800 this morning! Mrs Saker has put in an order; we look forward to its arrival in the autumn term.
